For this episode I interview Marlene Lehman, a resident at The Village of Riverside Glen. Marlene is a bright light in a time of increased isolation. She keeps her eyes and heart open for fellow residents who may need a friendly ear, and despite the time in quarantine, has found a myriad of activities to get her through. When she couldn't attend mass in person, she used the internet to digitally travel to masses around the world. When a museum exhibit about the liberation of Holland that she was planning to contribute to got delayed, she spent more time with the artifacts and the memories, learning things about her father that she hadn't known before. The photo albums have been out more, and her and her fellow knitters are continuing to knit squares for their blankets for hospice. It's a beautiful image, many people kept apart, knitting squares that join together to form a blanket. Marlene thinks so too. She could also use some more yarn, so please consider donating yarn to the Village of Riverside Glen!
