For this episode I interview Ruhee Dewji, a musician (and software engineer) in Toronto ON. Ruhee and Jenny get to the heart of their current ponderings and anxieties, exploring their creativity, where it is or isn't taking them, and what the "other side" of this may look like. If a person isn't able to perform music in their apartment due to having neighbours, and isn't able to play live because that isn't a thing, are they still a musician? Do we cease to exist if we aren't producing? Or does COVID count as a pause, freezing musicians and artists in suspended animation and retaining their status throughout this unfortunate period? Do we get to focus on "all the things we could be doing, pretending that we would be doing them, even if we aren’t doing them? How do we manage our internal critic, and WHY does that critic get an opinion on our talent when there's no one around to hear us? If we don't see another human being, do we still matter? What can we do to feel better? Ruhee's teaching herself to knit! And that seems to be helping. These are the sorts of things we talk about. Tune in!
